1. Insurance Renewal for 2012
Presentations were given, coverages and quotes considered.

THAT we award 2012 Insurance Renewal to BFL Canada at a premium of $29,364.00 + PST of $2,085.12 = $31,449.12. CARRIED
2. Adoption of Nov 28 minutes, motion

THAT we adopt minutes of Nov 28, 2011 as printed,
FURTHER THAT they now be released for distribution. CARRIED
a. update on OP Review Background Report
Changes are being processed, revised report forthcoming & receipt scheduled for Jan 9. Potential dates in Jan for Steering Committee were put forward.
b. update on Township signs
Municipal Display Signs have been installed & tv media attended today with local dignitaries.
Community Message Boards were discussed in consideration of additional costs and changes to the Ministry of Transportation’s Corridor Signing Policy which will be permitting business billboards.
Boundary Signs discussed. Population stat to be reviewed and slogan to be further considered.
c. update on Noise By-Law
Updated to add a clause prohibiting fireworks after 11:00 pm.

THAT we give 1st, 2nd, 3rd and final reading to By-Law No. 47-11; being a by-law to prohibit and regulate certain noises within the Township of Machar. CARRIED
3. Budget Worksheet for 2012

Committee budgets
Distributed to start Council input on priorities. Discussed in the context of budget review. The Clerk will review for modification to adjust for non budget account lines.
4. Status Update on Solar Project, motion
Engineering study completed. It appears there are too many restrictions, such as shadowing in the north and land size to make it a feasible investment. Sundridge did not join in the study.

Meeting of municipalities scheduled for Nov 29 was cancelled due to inclement weather and a meeting is now proposed for Jan. It was suggested this would be the appropriate avenue for presentation from Flying Club, rather than attending individual Council meetings.

CARRIED
